It has been awhile since I have blogged, as it has been so busy at Underdogs Too! Our plan for a soft opening didn’t work out, as the neighborhood happily embraced us with open arms! We basically opened our doors and never closed them again.
This has been a blessing but has presented some challenges for us. We had a new staff that had to learn our food, ours systems (where is stuff?), and a brand new POS. I am very proud of the staff for the hard work and great attitude they have. Each week we do get more operationally efficient and by 2019 we should be running at full speed! I am also very happy that all of you, our customers, have been so patient as we worked out the kinks. In the fast causal setting, 3 minutes of inefficiency will waterfall to customers waiting 12 minutes for service. Those are the things we work on every day.
Each day you may notice a few new additions to Underdogs Too, bar rail, mirrors, decorations etc. We are just about done with our improvements but will be closing from December 24th through December 26th to put on the final touches.
We have also applied to allow liquor/beer/wine to be served outside, and have applied to extend our kitchen hours to midnight. Both of these initiatives will require help from the neighborhood and customers letting that ABC and SF planning department know that these things are important to you! Look out for some online petitions to sign next year on these topics.
I hope everyone enjoys the holiday season, and I hope to see you all at 9am on January 1st, as we open our doors early for breakfast as you nurse that New Years Eve hangover!
